Laser Assisted Liposuction

Laser assisted liposuction is the newest develop in cosmetic surgery.  It’s a new European technology to reduce the pain, swelling, and bruising of other methods. Liposuction removes bulges of fat from various areas of the body using suction tubes that are inserted into the body through small incisions and a vacuum pump to remove fatty cells.

By focusing a low energy wave laser onto the parts of the body that are wanting to be worked on, the membranes of the cells  that contain the fat are weakened, and the fat is released out of the cell. Then, the laser is reset for pain management relief. Anti-flammatory and anti-swelling is then reset on the laser to reduce postoperative pain. Usually the following day, the patient returns for a second session of pain management.

Laser liposuction has many advantages over the other conventional methods. Since it is less painful, pain medication is not needed after the operation. Other methods also have a longer recovery time. With laser liposuction, the patient can return to normal activities is a matter of a few days. Laser liposuction also makes it possible for the the fat taken from parts of the body to be added to other areas of the body, such as the lips.

Some areas that laser liposuction that are generally used on women are the hips, thighs, knees, and stomach. For men the main areas of concentration are the neck, arms, and abdomen. Not only is laser liposuction used to remove fat, it is also used to remove sweat glands from the armpit to reduce sweating and odor. It does not interfere with the body’s natural cooling system, so its safe.

Laser assisted liposuction is a break-though in cosmetic surgery. It’s overall less painful because it reduces the swelling and bruising and the recovery time is quicker than the other methods.
